Diesel prices fall another dime
08/05/2008
Average diesel prices fell ten cents per gallon for the week of
August 4, 2008, following a 12-cent drop the previous week, according
to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Oil prices hit
$118 a barrel today, the lowest price it has been in three months,
according to The New York Times, a significant drop from the $147.27
reached on July 11th. While the drop in fuel prices hasn’t been as
steep, it is still more than a quarter per gallon lower than the
all-time high of $4.76 recorded on July 14th.
The most expensive
area of the country continues to be New England, where a gallon
averages $4.74. The least expensive area is the Midwest, where the
average is $4.42.
